How to make this grilled Rice Krispie treats recipe
Grease an 11 x 8 1/2 x 2-inch pan with butter, or generously spray with cooking spray and set aside.
Heat the butter and marshmallows on high in a large microwave-safe bowl for 2 minutes. Stir and return to the microwave. Continue heating in 30-second increments, stirring each time until the marshmallows are completely melted.
Add the rice cereal to the bowl of melted marshmallows and quickly stir until all the cereal is coated with the marshmallows.
Press the mixture into the prepared pan using a buttered spatula, spreading it out so it is even.
Allow the crispy rice treats to cool completely at room temperature before cutting them into squares.
Toasting your Rice Krispie treats on the grill
Preheat your grill to medium heat. I like to place 2 Krispie rice squares on each skewer. Once the grill is hot, place the skewers directly on the grill grates.
Allow the squares to brown, turning so that all sides get nicely toasted. Watch them closely so that they don’t start to burn.
Once you have them nicely toasted, remove them from the grill. Serve them warm. You can serve them as is or add a little chocolate sauce if you prefer.
Enjoy!
